Q300 debuts in Philippines

The Bombardier Q300 made its first revenue flight in the Philippines when Air Philippines inaugurated scheduled service between Manila and the resort area of Caticlan on December 15, 2007. The Q300 was the first of three ordered earlier in 2007.

The Q300 aircraft will be flying mostly to popular island destinations - hence the Q300 designation of Island Holidays - but the airline may decide to operate the aircraft on other short sectors with an average flying time of about 50 minutes.

Air Philippines selected the Q300 primarily because of its ability to handle the Caticlan runway, which is only 3,117 feet (950 m) long, with a full payload of 50 passengers.
