Q400 spreads its wings in the U.S.

Two new U.S. operators of the Q400 began revenue operations late in 2007 and early in 2008. On December 7, Lynx Aviation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. inaugurated Q400 service with a flight from Denver to Billings, Montana.

Colgan Air, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pinnacle Corp., began Q400 flying under the Continental Connection banner on February 4 from Newark Liberty International Airport. Initial cities served were Albany and Rochester, New York; Baltimore, Maryland; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Additional service from New York and Cleveland will be added in 2008.

Lynx Aviation, which has 10 Q400 aircraft on firm order via Frontier, serves as Frontier's newest regional partner serving destinations within 750 miles (1,207 km) from the Denver hub.

Pinnacle has 15 Q400 74-seat airliners on firm order, plus 10 on a conditional order basis and options on an additional 20. The 15 aircraft will all be assigned to Colgan Air.
