Pierre Attendu
President, Systems
Bombardier Transportation
Pierre Attendu was appointed President, Systems, of Bombardier Transportation on October 29, 2012. He combines this role with his responsibility as Chief Procurement Officer.
Mr Attendu originally joined Bombardier in Canada in 1983, holding positions in Manufacturing, Operations and Project Management. He gained substantial railway experience as a member of the project delivery teams for the New York Metro contract in USA and the Eurotunnel project in Belgium.
He joined the Procurement function in 1995 as the Regional Head of Procurement for European countries and was subsequently promoted to become European Vice President Procurement in 2000. He became Chief Procurement Officer for the Bombardier Transportation Group in March 2004 with worldwide functional responsibility for 1,200 employees and 3.5 billion euro annual spend.
In March 2008, Mr Attendu’s role was expanded further when he was appointed Vice President Operations and Chief Procurement Officer with worldwide functional responsibility for Manufacturing, Quality, Processes, Health, Safety and Environment, Procurement, Real Estate and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Pierre Attendu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal in Canada.
