Automated People Mover System – Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, USA

In July 2009, Bombardier Transportation signed contracts with the City of Phoenix to supply, operate and maintain a BOMBARDIER INNOVIA automated people mover (APM) system at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona, USA. The PHX Sky Train® is the first driverless transit system in Arizona.

Bombardier is designing and supplying all of the system-wide electrical and mechanical equipment for the PHX Sky Train®, including the BOMBARDIER CITYFLO 650 automatic train control. The fleet of 18 INNOVIA vehicles will operate on 3.5-kilometre (2.2-mile) of mostly elevated dual-track guideway and will serve three stations, connecting a new station near the METRO light rail stop to the Airport's East Economy Parking and Terminal 4.

Following completion of stage one of the PHX Sky Train® in 2012, Bombardier will provide 10 years of operations and maintenance services.
