Bombardier today celebrated a significant program milestone with the entry into service of its 300th Challenger 300 business jet. The aircraft was handed over to an undisclosed North American customer during a delivery event at Bombardier Aerospace’s headquarters in Dorval. Customer representatives, company leaders and employees from an almost 1,000-strong Challenger workforce were on hand to mark the occasion.
“The rapid growth of the Challenger 300 jet’s worldwide fleet is testament to this young aircraft platform’s excellent reputation for reliability and performance. This aircraft’s range and cabin size make it the perfect business tool for regional transportation requirements,” said Steve Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “We are encouraged by companies who recognize the strong value of business aircraft and choose to invest in our products and people.”
Challenger 300: This first true super-midsize aircraft offers transcontinental range and superior long-range cruise speed, with eight passengers. It can fly Los Angeles-New York non-stop with a full payload and its superior airfield performance allows it to operate out of 4,810-foot (1,466-m) runways with ease*. The Challenger 300 offers the best performance and value in its class combined with a dispatch reliability consistently over 99.7 per cent -- this aircraft has exceeded customer expectations since its entry into service in 2004.
