Bombardier Aerospace 2010 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards

During its 2011 Strategic Suppliers Executive Meeting, Bombardier Aerospace proudly announced the results of its new Corporate Social Responsibility supplier recognition program, which acknowledges suppliers who distinguish themselves through their corporate social responsibility initiatives. The recipients for 2010 are CAE Inc., Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation, Honeywell Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney Canada.

The ceremony, which took place at Bombardier Aerospace’s headquarters in Dorval, Québec, on April 11th, was attended by 47 suppliers, as well as Bombardier Aerospace executives, including Guy C. Hachey, President and Chief Operating Officer; Hélène V. Gagnon, Vice President, Public Affairs, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility; and Janice Davis, Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer.

For this first year, suppliers were evaluated based on their achievements on the six pillars of Bombardier’s corporate social responsibility strategy, namely: governing effectively, valuing employees, building responsible products, operating sustainably, engaging suppliers and acting as a responsible citizen.

“It is important for us to drive initiatives that lead to more sustainable practices throughout Bombardier Aerospace’s entire value chain,” said Ms. Davis. ”This award is one way for us to reaffirm our commitment to our suppliers and a way to emphasize their strategic contribution towards building a more sustainable supply chain.”

During the event, Bombardier also recognized suppliers for their high quality, delivery and competitiveness standards in 2010.

In 2010, Bombardier Aerospace was selected as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and received the Québec Prize of Excellence in Corporate Citizenship, both recognizing the Company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
