All-new super-midsize business jet enters service with Bombardier Flexjet
Bombardier Aerospace marked an important milestone in corporate aviation with the entry into service of the first completed Bombardier Challenger* 300 business jet on January 8, 2004. The aircraft was delivered to Bombardier Business Jet Solutions on December 23, 2003, to be operated in the Bombardier Flexjet fractional ownership program. With yesterday evening’s first customer flight, the Bombardier Challenger 300 officially becomes the first purpose-built aircraft in the emerging super-midsize market segment to enter service.
Aircraft serial number 20006 is the first of 25 Bombardier Challenger 300 aircraft ordered by Bombardier Flexjet, and features a standard interior floor plan with double-club seating.

Since its official launch at the 1999 Paris Air Show, the Bombardier Challenger 300 (then Bombardier Continental) has enjoyed one of the most successful introductions in aviation history. Developed following an intensive 24-month market research program with aircraft owners, its all-new design is tailored to market demands for a reliable, cost-efficient, transcontinental business jet with a spacious cabin.

Bombardier sets new standards for aircraft entry into service
With the Challenger 300, Bombardier Aerospace has taken unprecedented steps to ensure that every aspect of this business jet is designed for utmost reliability, and that the customer support infrastructure for the aircraft surpasses previous levels of readiness at entry into service.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Maintenance Steering Group Level-3 (MSG-3) philosophy, which was developed to increase reliability by reducing maintenance requirements, was applied to the aircraft’s design. This design philosophy was even applied to the aircraft’s interior, a first for a Bombardier business jet.
Never before has a Bombardier business jet entered service backed by a customer support infrastructure as prepared and as familiar with the aircraft as the Bombardier Challenger 300 service network. Bombardier conducted extensive testing of the Bombardier Business Aviation Services (BBAS) infrastructure by extending Function and Reliability (F & R) testing beyond FAA requirements to include line maintenance and support systems.
