Bombardier Aerospace at ILA 2006

Bombardier Aerospace will be present at the biennial Berlin Air Show (ILA) being held in Berlin, Germany, from May 16-21, 2006 to exhibit some of its market-leading aircraft.

Bombardier will feature its Learjet 45 and Challenger 850 business jets on static display throughout the show. In addition, the Challenger 605 aircraft mock-up will make its first-ever appearance in Germany at the Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services facility.

With its innovative products, turnkey charter solutions and significant investments in world-class customer service and support, Bombardier is a leader in corporate aviation in Europe. In Germany, Bombardier commands a 35 per cent share of the business aircraft market, and its premium Learjet 40 light jet, high-performance Learjet 60 midsize jet and large Challenger 604 aircraft are leaders in their respective segments.

“With a significant business aircraft installed-base in Europe and centrally located on the continent, Germany continues to be an important market for our industry in the region,” said  Bob Horner, Vice-President, Sales, Europe, Africa and Middle East, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “Bombardier has deep roots in Germany and is committed to further growing its presence in the country and further east into the CIS community,” noted Mr. Horner.

Bombardier Aerospace’s strong position in Europe is also fuelled by the growing popularity of its regional aircraft. Millions of passengers fly each year on more than 400 Bombardier CRJ Series regional jets and Q Series turboprops operated by European airlines. Germany alone counts for more than 100 of these aircraft.

“We are very proud of the partnerships we have forged with airlines in Germany and Europe,” said James Dailly, Senior Vice-president, Sales, Bombardier Regional Aircraft. “We are strongly committed to working closely with our European partners to provide reliable, efficient and economic regional airline transportation.”

Bombardier has also enjoyed a long-term relationship with Lufthansa since 1992 when Lufthansa CityLine became the launch customer of the CRJ Series program and inaugurated CRJ100/200 aircraft service. In addition, Bombardier established in 1997 the Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (LBAS) exclusively dedicated to supporting Bombardier business aircraft.

ILA is one of the aerospace industry’s most important events. In 2004, it attracted 987 exhibiting companies from 42 countries, over 105,200 trade visitors and 331 aircraft on static display. Bombardier Aerospace’s exhibit will be located in Exhibition Hall 9, booth number 9230.
