Bombardier Commercial Aircraft Touches Down at Beijing’s Aviation Expo/China 2015

  • New and local leadership teams showcase product portfolio and customer service offerings

Once again demonstrating its ongoing support and commitment to China and the broader Asia-Pacific marketplace, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft is pleased to participate in the Aviation Expo/China for the 2015 edition. Teams will meet current and potential customers and local stakeholders to further strengthen long-term relationships with partners in the growing Chinese aviation industry - together showcasing Bombardier’s innovative range of aircraft and services.

“As one of the world’s fastest growing economies, China has long represented a key market for the commercial aircraft segment and Bombardier’s footprint continues to grow locally as we look to capture opportunities for our C Series, Q Series and CRJ Series families of aircraft,” said Fred Cromer, President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “Today, our 50-year long-standing relationship in the region has grown to include a steady expansion of Bombardier's customer base and service offerings, along with an increased focus on development and manufacturing opportunities to meet the rapidly growing aviation industry and I am pleased to be on site to advance these discussions.”

“While China’s civil aviation industry continues seeing positive signs that it is benefitting from a global return to economic growth, Bombardier is encouraged with the prospect of introducing all of its game-changing, technologically advanced aircraft into China,” said Andy Solem, Vice President, Sales, China and Asia-Pacific. “Bombardier forecasts a demand for 2,450 commercial aircraft in Greater China in the 60- to 150-seat segment over the next 20 years, with deliveries to Greater China representing 19 per cent of the world’s total demand for 12,700 aircraft in the segment – together with ongoing regional infrastructure development, it will form the foundation for the rapidly growing aviation industry which Bombardier is well positioned to meet.”

Fully committed to putting its customers first with the highest level of support as close as possible to their operational bases, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft has significantly expanded its customer services network in China. Bombardier operates a localized customer service network, including a team of Field Service Representatives and Customer Support Account Managers; Regional Support Offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong and neighbouring Singapore – all of which are responsible for local sourcing, supplier development and quality; as well as two established parts depots in Beijing and Hong Kong. Additionally, Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Ltd. (STAECO) operates an Authorized Service Facility in Jinan for CRJ Series aircraft. Bombardier continues to explore opportunities to increase its customer support presence in strategic locations across China.

Bombardier’s local office in Shanghai is home to its Commercial Aircraft sales and marketing teams for China and North Asia as well as the teams working on cooperation projects and aircraft certification activities. Additionally, it houses Bombardier Aerospace’s Supply Chain organization in China.

Currently, more than 350 Q Series turboprops, CRJ regional jets and C Series airliners are in service with, or on firm order from, approximately 45 customers and operators in the Asia-Pacific region, Greater China and India. These aircraft are all optimized for the markets they are designed to serve, and Bombardier Commercial Aircraft’s regional sales and marketing team is ideally positioned in both Shanghai and Singapore to provide industry-leading solutions to current and prospective customers.

Aviation Expo/China 2015 welcomes visitors from Wednesday, September 16 to Saturday, September 19. The Bombardier Commercial Aircraft exhibit, located in the China National Convention Centre (CNCC) at A2-1, will be closed on Saturday, September 19.
