Bombardier Enters Supplier Agreement With Triton Boats

Maker of high-performance bass and offshore fishing boats offers Evinrude and Johnson outboard power

Bombardier Recreational Products' Boats and Outboard Engines division announced today it has signed a long-term supply agreement with Triton Boats, to provide Evinrude® and Johnson® outboard engines to power Triton's complete lines of high-performance bass and offshore sport fishing boats.

"We are excited about the opportunities that we have with Johnson and Evinrude engines," said Earl Bentz, President of Triton Boats. "They are household names that we need in this business to keep the industry moving forward, both technologically and competitively. Bombardier has a number of very talented people at the head of Evinrude and Johnson, many we have known and trusted for years. With their abilities and the Bombardier wherewithal, we expect once again to see great things out of these two brands."

"We respect the enormous commitment that Bombardier has made to our industry, especially to the sport of fishing. I know that Bombardier shares the same values that has made Triton a leader in the industry. Quality, performance and service have become synonymous with the Triton brand and we want those we partner with to enhance our position in the marketplace, as we are sure Evinrude and Johnson engines will. I found that Bombardier holds the same high standards as we do and that is the kind of industry partner we can build a future with."

"The products Triton builds are 'first-class' in their respective boat categories," said Jim Ferrero, Director of OEM Sales for the Boats and Outboard Engines division. "Triton is exactly the kind of quality boat builder we want to be aligned with. They have a loyal, knowledgeable customer following in the high-performance bass and offshore fishing markets. We are looking forward to supporting Triton's power needs for many years to come."

Bombardier has also secured agreements to supply Evinrude and Johnson outboards to other major independent boat builders, as well as all of the Genmar Brands.

Supplier agreements are a key part of the Bombardier strategy to team with strong, quality boat builders who sell products that boaters rely on to provide a great on-water experience. Bombardier has pursued strategic business relationships with boat builders that have been identified as companies that exhibit stability, professionalism and growth potential. However, according to Ferrero, Bombardier also is focused on aligning with builders that maintain strong distribution networks.

"We want our boat builders to have a very strong distribution organization comprised of dealers who are knowledgeable, aggressive and well respected in the marketplace," Ferrero said. "When we combine the strengths of boat builders such as Triton with our current base of dealers, Bombardier reinforces what is already one of the industry's strongest distribution channels."
