Bombardier Global 5000 and Special Edition Bombardier Learjet 60 Make Ebace Debut

Spanish operator chooses Special Edition Bombardier Learjet 60 business jet

The two newest Bombardier business jets are among the star attractions at the fifth annual European Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, May 17-20, 2005. The high-speed Bombardier Global 5000 corporate jet and the transcontinental Special Edition Bombardier Learjet 60 aircraft are being exhibited for the first time as fully equipped production models.

"Bombardier continues to lead the industry in bringing the right products to market at the right time," points out Bob Horner, vice-president, sales, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

"We continue to invest in our product family through the introduction of new aircraft and ongoing enhancements. The entry into service of the Bombardier Global 5000, less than a month ago, underscores our commitment to bringing technologically advanced products to market. The Special Edition Bombardier Learjet 60, featuring over $1 million U.S. worth of options as standard equipment, reaffirms this midsize aircraft as the performance and value leader in its category."

The EBACE twin debut coincides with growing sales momentum for the two aircraft. In the past month, Bombardier has announced three new orders for the Bombardier Global 5000 corporate jet, led by launch customers in New Zealand, Brazil and Honduras. New orders for the Special Edition Bombardier Learjet 60 aircraft were recently placed by operators in Macedonia, Brazil and Mexico, in addition to today's announcement to a customer based in Madrid, Spain.

"We selected the Special Edition Bombardier Learjet 60 because it combines proven reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness," said Francisco Hernando del Saz, vice-president, ONDE 2000 (Spain). "The aircraft's superior stand-up cabin and well appointed interior offer a level of comfort unmatched in its category." The aircraft will be offered for charter through Jet Personales SA, a leading business aircraft management and charter services provider in Madrid.

Introduced in October 2004, the Special Edition Learjet 60 transcontinental business jet delivers superior long-range cruise speed, outstanding climb capabilities, the best dispatch reliability rate in its segment and proven, fuel-efficient engines together with sophisticated avionics and interior options as standard equipment. The aircraft can travel up to 81 per cent of the speed of sound - faster than any aircraft in its class - and is certified to fly up to 51,000 feet (15,545 m), above traffic congestion and inclement weather.

The new high-speed Bombardier Global 5000 business jet is capable of flying non-stop from continental Europe to central North America at Mach 0.85. The aircraft with the widest and most spacious cabin in the super large segment also features the first-ever Ethernet-based Airshow 21 application, allowing passengers to enjoy in-flight high speed connectivity for e-mail and web browsing, satellite telephones, as well as unmatched entertainment options.

The Global 5000 is designed to execute intercontinental missions at Mach 0.89 - faster than any competing jet - and provide a cost-effective step-up for current large aircraft operators.
