Bombardier Introduces Two New Two-Seater ATVs

Bombardier Recreational Products is the first and only manufacturer to offer a full line-up of ATVs designed for two riders, following the introduction of two new models, the Quest™ MAX 650 and the Outlander™ MAX 400H.O. 4X4.

Prior to last summer's launch of the Bombardier Traxter® MAX, the world's first super duty, two-seater quad built to handle all utility applications, ATVs were designed only for single rider use. The reaction to the all-utility Traxter MAX exceeded expectations in this untapped market, proving that ATV riders want to enjoy the same two-up benefits Ski-Doo® snowmobile and Sea-Doo® watercraft riders have experienced for years.

"By adding the MAX concept to two award-winning Bombardier® ATVs, the Quest and the Outlander, Bombardier now offers consumers three outstanding choices to accommodate two riders with utility and recreational needs," said Chris Dawson, Vice President Marketing, Snowmobiles, Watercraft and ATV.

With its 644 cc Rotax® 4-TEC™ CVT engine, the new Quest MAX 650 is a
two-rider ATV tough enough to handle utility applications and versatile enough to provide hours of recreational fun. The clutching of its 'continuously variable transmission' (CVT) is calibrated to provide quicker, smoother acceleration engagement, producing a 'get-on-and-go' ride much like that found on a Ski-Doo snowmobile. It also provides exceptional off-throttle engine braking to assist in stopping. The Quest MAX 650's semi step-through design allows effortless access to the engine compartment, while also allowing easier mounting and dismounting. The Quest MAX 650 shares Bombardier Traxter MAX benefits such as the full-time 4WD Visco-Lok† Optimized Traction system, the rear-mounted radiator, the large up-front storage compartment, and the "Park" position.

For consumers who want an ATV for their recreational activities, the Bombardier Outlander MAX 400H.O. 4X4 doubles the fun by allowing two passengers to experience their adventures together. The versatile Outlander MAX 400H.O. 4X4 can also be converted into a one-seater with extra cargo space, by using the optional new modular seat and rack system, which extends the rear rack quickly and easily.

The Outlander MAX 400H.O. 4X4 shares the best features and advanced technologies of the award-winning Outlander 400H.O. 4X4. The innovative TTI™ (Trailing Torsional Independent) rear suspension provides superior two-up ride comfort over a broad range of terrain and conditions. Meanwhile, Bombardier's revolutionary SST™ (Surrounding Spar Technology) one-piece perimeter steel frame benefits two-up riding by providing greater strength, structural integrity, better engine protection and superior power-to-weight ratio. The SST frame also delivers a narrower bottom profile "runner", whose "slide and glide" action allows the Outlander MAX 400H.O. 4X4 to virtually "ski" across obstacles without getting bogged down. Outlander MAX 400H.O. 4X4 has a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic transmission and offers such passenger amenities as raised floorboards, an integrated ergonomic backrest and hand holds.

Bombardier Recreational Products designs, develops, builds, distributes and markets utility vehicles, Rotax® engines and karts, Ski Doo® and Lynx® snowmobiles, Bombardier™ ATVs, Sea Doo® watercraft and sport boats, Johnson® and Evinrude® outboard engines, as well as Evinrude direct injection and Evinrude E TEC™ technologies.
