Bombardier Launches New Smart Maintenance Plus Coverage Program

Industry-leading Smart Services expanded

Bombardier Aerospace this week introduced Smart Maintenance Plus, a new optional cost-per-flight-hour program providing comprehensive maintenance and expanded parts coverage. Effective June 1, 2006, this program is available with the purchase of new Bombardier Learjet, Challenger and Global business jets, including the newly launched midsize Learjet 60 XR and widebody Challenger 605 aircraft.

"Over the past 20 years, operators have reaffirmed the value of our Smart Services," said Dave Orcutt, vice-president, customer support, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “These initiatives highlight Bombardier’s commitment to improving aircraft ownership by offering customers a cost-effective solution for their aircraft maintenance needs.”

Smart Maintenance Plus introduces labour and expanded parts coverage to the popular Smart Parts program, bringing added budget protection to the new aircraft warranty.

Smart Maintenance Plus customers will benefit from manual work coverage on scheduled airframe inspections, tire and brake replacements, and oxygen and nitrogen servicing at full shop rates at Bombardier Aircraft Services centers. The program also extends to participating Bombardier Authorized Service Facilities (ASF) to perform work on eligible aircraft models if covered under their respective warranty work agreements.

With Smart Maintenance Plus, new Challenger and Global aircraft are covered for five years or 2,500 flight hours, whichever occurs first, while new Learjet aircraft are covered for five years or 2,250 flight hours, whichever occurs first. The five-year term coverage extends to unscheduled airframe system components and certain unscheduled labour for Challenger 605 and Learjet 60 models in their respective out-of-warranty periods.

Coverage also includes parts for tire and brake wear, life-limited airframe system components, oxygen and firex bottle recertification and expendables required during scheduled airframe inspections such as hydraulic filters, gaskets and seals.

Enrollment is simple and carries no administration charges. Operators pay a monthly charge based on actual flight hours for a set flight-hour rate based on their aircraft model and avionics options. A minimum annual charge applies and flight-hour rates are fixed for a five-year term except for an annual inflation adjustment.
