Bombardier Learjet 60 business jet developing momentum in Asia-Pacific

Two deliveries to Australian operators

Bombardier Aerospace delivered its first-ever Bombardier Learjet* 60 business jet to an operator in Australia in January and is scheduled to deliver a second aircraft this spring, reflecting a heightened interest in the aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region.

“The Bombardier Learjet 60 offers exceptional long-range performance in Australia,” said David Dixon, regional vice-president, sales, Asia-Pacific, Bombardier Aerospace Business Aircraft. “The aircraft can fly nonstop from Sydney to Perth, and with one stop continue to Singapore, providing an optimal solution for operators.”

The two deliveries in Australia follow last year’s delivery of a Bombardier Learjet 60 to Subic International Air Charter of the Philippines, a member of the innovative Bombardier Flexjet Asia-Pacific charter network.

The aircraft offers an excellent combination of high-speed performance with exceptional cabin comfort and strong dependability. “Operators in Asia-Pacific are increasingly recognizing how well suited the Learjet 60 is to their needs. Its unmatched time-to-climb speed gets you well above congested air traffic and bad weather in minimum time –significant factors in this region,” observed Mr. Dixon.

The Bombardier Learjet 60 features a top cruise of Mach 0.81 (534 mph; 859 km/h) and can climb to 41,000 feet (12,497 m) in less than 19 minutes. It is approved to operate up to 51,000 feet (15,545 m). As of February 1, 2004, there were 270 Bombardier Learjet 60 aircraft in the worldwide fleet.
