Bombardier Offers Repair and Overhaul Capability for Electrical Harnessing

Bombardier Customer Services announced today at MRO Americas that it is offering a repair and overhaul capability for electrical harnessing. Bombardier is exhibiting its range of maintenance, repair and overhaul services for commercial and business aircraft customers at stand no 336 of the event, a key exhibition for operators and aircraft service providers.

With more than 50 years of design and manufacturing experience in electrical harnessing, Bombardier is now FAA/EASA-approved to offer repair and overhaul services for 21 aircraft models. Its Belfast repair station provides harnessing solutions for a wide range of components on Bombardier business and commercial aircraft as well as Boeing and Airbus airliners.

Repair and overhaul are offered on the following types of electrical harnesses:

  • Engine
  • Engine exhaust
  • Airframe
  • Undercarriage
  • Door

Using the latest ultraviolet laser marking and automated testing equipment, skilled technicians can eliminate unnecessary replacements, extend the harness life and provide significant cost savings to the operator. All repairs are returned under warranty within responsive turnaround times.

“We have a long experience of manufacturing high-quality, electrical harnessing and have used our specialist knowledge and skills to develop innovative repair capabilities. We are always looking at ways to add value to our products and services and this is another opportunity for us to offer a cost-effective solution to customers.  It is the latest in a series of developments in Belfast which have included a major expansion of our repair and overhaul facilities,” said Stephen Addis, General Manager, Bombardier Customer Services, Belfast.
