Bombardier Q400 Smart Parts program soars with new Eurolot agreement

Smart Parts Program to support Eurolot in Strengthening the Operational Efficiency of their Q400 NextGen Aircraft as of entry-into-service

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that it has signed a five-year agreement under its Q400 Smart Parts program with Eurolot S.A. of Warsaw, Poland. Following the first delivery of Eurolot’s Q400 NextGen aircraft in May 2012, the parties finalized a Smart Parts agreement which is customized to the airline’s specific operational requirements. It will provide Eurolot with competitive and predictable advanced component exchange and repair costs, as well as superior availability of key components for its fleet of Q400 NextGen turboprop airliners from entry-into-service through to 2017.

As part of its fleet renewal and route expansion program, Eurolot ordered eight Q400 NextGen airliners from Bombardier and holds options on another 12, making it the first operator of Q400 airliners in Poland. Eurolot began operations in July 1997.

“As the original equipment manufacturer, Bombardier is in a unique position to understand the needs of Eurolot and provide the best solution to ensure the highest reliability and lowest lifecycle costs,” said Gary Martin, Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Service Programs, Bombardier Customer Services. “We are delighted by the airline’s vote of confidence in our Smart Parts program – which continues to outpace competing offerings.”

“Bombardier’s Smart Parts program will help support the operational efficiency of our Q400 NextGen airliners as we embark on an accelerated expansion program in the region,” said Bartlomiej Matusewicz, Vice President, Operations & Technical, Eurolot S.A. “We look forward to the enhanced cost predictability that the program offers as well as service levels offered by Bombardier.”

With more than 25 years’ experience in providing cost protection and budget predictability for its customers, Bombardier is uniquely positioned to deliver optimal maintenance and support solutions. There are currently more than 1,000 Bombardier business aircraft enrolled in Bombardier's Smart Services programs, including the pioneering Bombardier Smart Parts plan, covering over 80,000 components. Since its initiation, Smart Parts has continued to expand with the adoption of Q400 Smart Parts by regional carriers worldwide.

Eurolot is the third airline to sign a Smart Parts agreement in the last two months. Most recently, European Q400 aircraft operator Luxair extended its Smart Parts agreement for an additional five years. Republic Airlines has also recently agreed to terms for Smart Parts coverage for its 32 Q400 aircraft.

About Q400 NextGen aircraft
Optimized for short-haul operations, the “comfortably greener,” 70- to 80-seat Q400 NextGen aircraft is a large, fast, quiet and fuel-efficient turboprop. It provides an ideal balance of passenger comfort and operating economics with a reduced environmental footprint.

Setting new environmental standards, the Q400 NextGen aircraft uses 30 to 40 per cent less fuel and produces 30 to 40 per cent fewer emissions on routes where it has replaced similar-capacity, older jets. The Q400 NextGen aircraft is also 15 decibels quieter than ICAO Chapter 4 noise standards; raising the bar for the entire industry. Bombardier has booked firm orders for 428 Q400 and Q400 NextGen*aircraft and delivered aircraft are in service with more than 40 operators in 30 countries on six continents. Q400 and Q400 NextGen aircraft have transported more than 177 million passengers and have logged some 3.2 million flight hours and over 3.5 million take-offs and landings.
