Bombardier Military Aviation Training is the 2004 recipient of the Customer Value Award from Frost & Sullivan, an independent consulting and market research organization. It recognizes the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program as providing the highest ratio of value to cost to its customers in the flying training services industry.
“The award represents clearly what we have been working hard to achieve”, says Zev Rosenzweig, Vice President, Military Aviation Training. “We are very happy to receive recognition for “Best Value for Money” from Frost & Sullivan. We apply this fundamental principle to all our programs at Bombardier Military Aviation Training. We work together with our customer, in this case Canada’s Department of National Defence, and the Canadian Forces. We and our team of top-notch sub-contractors work hard at providing the best training solution at the best price.”
In operation since 2000, NFTC is a cooperative approach to training military pilots based on a partnership arrangement between the Government of Canada and the industry. Joint cooperation with the Canadian Forces has created a comprehensive fighter pilot training program which combines basic, advanced and fighter lead-in training. The program offers high standards of quality and a means of confidently forecasting and managing fighter pilot training costs in one of the finest training environments in the world. Nations participating in the program to date include Denmark, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Singapore, Italy, Hungary and Canada.
The Canadian Forces specifies the training syllabus, sets and maintains the standards and provides two air bases and some infrastructure and services. The participating nations contribute to the program’s management and provide qualified Instructor Pilots (IP) as well as student pilots. All IPs from participating nations and several “guest” nations expressing interest in the program, are qualified by the Canadian Forces to Canadian military standards.
Training is conducted at 15 Wing Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and 4 Wing Cold Lake, Alberta using a fleet of Raytheon Harvard II turboprop advanced trainers and BAE SYSTEMS Hawk 115 advanced jet trainer aircraft supplied and maintained by Bombardier. Bombardier also provides the complete ground based training environment and all of the ground based training.
In addition to NFTC, Bombardier Military Aviation Training has been supporting and operating the Contracted Flying Training and Support (CFTS) program at Southport, Manitoba for more than 12 years. Bombardier Military Aviation Training has expanded into post graduate flying training for Canada’s fighter force with its recent award of the Advanced Distributed Combat Training System (ADCTS) contract at Cold Lake and Bagotville, Québec.
