Bombardier Recognized as a Leader in Sustainability, named to Corporate Knights Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World Index

Bombardier (TSX:BBD.B) has been recognized as a leading sustainable corporation by Toronto-based media and research company Corporate Knights Inc.

The announcement was made earlier today at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, when Corporate Knights released its 15th annual list of the world’s most sustainable corporations. The ranking follows a rigorous analysis of 7,500 companies around the world with annual revenues of US$1 billion or more.

Listed among the top 25 most sustainable corporations, Bombardier was both the highest ranked Canadian company and the leading transportation corporation. Among its notable high-performance areas were Bombardier’s investments in innovation, high safety standards and clean revenue (i.e., revenue associated with products and services that have clear environmental benefits, such as Bombardier’s leading rail solutions which reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions).

“We are very proud to be included in the 2019 Global 100 index. It highlights our commitment to sustainability as we execute our turnaround plan,” said Alain Bellemare, President and Chief Executive Officer, Bombardier Inc. “At Bombardier, we are helping to move the world forward by designing, building and servicing the most innovative and eco-efficient planes and trains. And, we are committed to doing it responsibly, ethically and profitably.”

Around the world, Bombardier products connect people, support global commerce and make urban development more sustainable. “As a leading rail solutions provider, Bombardier plays an important role in making sustainable mobility a reality for half a billion people every single day. We applaud their contribution to sustainability and look forward to tracking their progress in the future,” said Toby A.A. Heaps, Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief, Corporate Knights.
