Bombardier-Rotax Receives Approval to Increase TBO On Its 912 Series Aircraft Engines

Bombardier Recreational Products is pleased to announce the extension of the period of operation of its Rotax® 912 series of piston aviation aircraft engines. All the necessary approvals have been secured from the Certificate Authority Austro Control GmbH (ACG), to increase the time before overhaul (TBO) of the Rotax 912 series of engines.

Therefore, effective immediately, the TBO for 912 engines will be increased from 1,200 hours TBO to 1,500 hours TBO. TBO increases are for all 912 series of engines in the field, subject to the performance of applicable service bulletins.

"I am very proud of this milestone, which reflects our continued focus and commitment to product improvement and collaboration with the regulatory authorities." said Yves Leduc, Vice President Aircraft Engines and Materials Management at Bombardier-Rotax GmbH & CO KG. "This achievement was made possible because of the support of our worldwide distribution network and its continuous product support efforts. It is also a testament to our employees’ dedication to this industry and the Rotax brand," he added.

Bombardier-Rotax also wishes to announce that it is presently working on a program for extending the period of operation and securing ACG approvals to increase the TBO on its 914 series engines.
