Bombardier will showcase its popular Challenger 300 super midsize jet at the 45th Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA) annual convention, and static display at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport from June 13-15, 2006. The continental business jet is Bombardier’s star attraction at the trade show, which attracts business aircraft operators from across the country.
The Challenger 300, the first true super-midsize business jet, has been very popular with aircraft operators worldwide since its entry into service in January 2004. The traditional in-service fleet currently totals over 80 aircraft, with a dispatch reliability of 99.5 per cent. The Challenger 300 combines transcontinental range and superior long-range cruise speed, with widebody comfort for eight passengers. It can connect Montreal–Mexico City, or Halifax–Vancouver non-stop with 8 passengers and their luggage, while its superior airfield performance allows it to operate out of 5,000-foot (1,524-m) runways with ease.
Bombardier leads the way in Canada
Bombardier’s innovative line up of Learjet, Challenger and Global business jets has captured 37 per cent of the Canadian market share, including 79 per cent of all large-cabin aircraft in the country. Over the past four years, Bombardier delivered 10 of the 13 large-cabin aircraft in Canada, including six widebody Challenger 604 aircraft, one high-speed Bombardier Global 5000 jet and three ultra-long range Global Express business jets.
"Bombardier is well positioned to offer Canadian operators the right product to meet either their regional, coast-to-coast, or intercontinental travel requirements," said Peter Likoray, sales director, Canada, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “As well, new products such as the Challenger Corporate Shuttle Solutions address the evolving needs of progressive organizations looking for reliable, economical and flexible transportation solutions.”
The first Bombardier corporate shuttle aircraft, a Challenger 850, entered service in March 2006 with Suncor Energy Inc., a pioneer in developing Western Canada’s vast oil sands resources. Launched in May 2005, the Bombardier Challenger 850 corporate shuttle delivers the proven advantages of a widebody cabin, low direct operating costs, outstanding dispatch reliability and ease of maintenance, all hallmarks of the Bombardier CRJ200 airliner from which it is derived.
In addition, Bombardier will host comprehensive technical and operational sessions at CBAA for its Bombardier Challenger and Global aircraft operators.
