- Bombardier network of authorized facilities worldwide grows to 57 locations across 28 countries
Bombardier Aerospace today stepped up its commitment to build an industry-leading aftermarket service network for its business aircraft customers with the announcement of the addition of a new Line Maintenance Facility (LMF) in Qatar. Qatar Airways' Corporate Jet Division, Qatar Executive, based at Doha International Airport, has been named LMF for Challenger 300, Challenger 604, Challenger 605 jets and Global business jets.
“Qatar Airways has built a successful business flying and maintaining Bombardier business jets under the Qatar Executive banner and they know our aircraft intimately,” said Éric Martel, President, Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft. “Maintenance and repair services are central to a positive ownership experience, and we are extremely pleased to extend our relationship with Qatar Executive to support the growing base of Bombardier customers in the Middle East.”
Established in 2009, Qatar Executive has quickly emerged as one of the region’s premier charter and maintenance service providers, with both Challenger and Global aircraft at the heart of its premium fleet. The company employs a full-time staff of 13 maintenance technicians and their operations take place in a 67,800 sq. ft. (6,300 sq. m.) maintenance hangar.
"We are proud that Bombardier has selected Qatar Executive as an Authorized Service Facility for Qatar, the Middle East and neighbouring regions and we look forward to offering exceptional maintenance service and professional expertise to regional Bombardier jet owners and visiting private jet operators,” said Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer ,Qatar Airways. “With Bombardier and Qatar Executive sharing the same values on high quality standards, customer care, reliability and delivery punctuality, we are confident this partnership will be a success that further cements Qatar’s position as a major aviation and maintenance hub.”
The announcement brings to 57 the number of Authorized Service Facilities (ASFs) and LMFs catering to Bombardier’s business and commercial aircraft customers, now in 28 countries. These are supported by nine Bombardier-owned service centres in North America and Europe. In the past two years alone, Bombardier has granted 11 new ASF and LMF designations in locations worldwide, expanded capacity and scope at its first wholly owned service centre outside of North America, at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, and announced a new wholly owned facility for business aircraft to be opened in Singapore in 2013.
Putting customers first locally, globally
Bombardier is committed to putting its customers first by offering the highest level of support as close as possible to their operational bases. As part of this commitment to customers in the Middle East, Bombardier opened its full-scale business aircraft Regional Support Office (RSO) in Dubai in 2010. In 2011, the office saw the addition of a Customer Liaison Pilot to its permanent staff that also includes a Customer Support Account Manager, two Field Service Representatives and a RSO Manager. The RSO in Dubai is complemented by the company’s regional parts depot.
