Bombardier Aerospace and ExecuJet Australia today premiered two Bombardier business jets, the new widebody Challenger 605 aircraft and the high-speed Bombardier Global 5000 jet, at the Australian International Airshow at Avalon Airport in Victoria.
“We are thrilled to present this exceptional duo together in Australia. The Challenger 605 business jet and the Bombardier Global 5000 offer wider cabins, comfort and functionality in their respective segments,” said David Dixon, regional vice-president, sales, Asia-Pacific, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “The Challenger 605 is poised to maintain the long-standing distinction of the Challenger 600 series as the best-selling large category jet in the world, while the Bombardier Global 5000 jet sets a new benchmark in the super-large segment.”
In service since late January 2007, the Challenger 605 business jet features the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 flight deck avionics, a state-of-the-art Ethernet-based cabin electronic system, significant new cabin design elements and an increased payload capacity of 200 pounds (91 kg). Featuring the widest stand-up cabin of any large-size business jet available today, it can fly Melbourne-Singapore and Sydney-Manila non-stop with five passengers*.
The Bombardier Global 5000 jet combines superior speed with the largest cabin in the super large segment. Designed to execute transcontinental missions faster than any competing jet, the aircraft can connect Melbourne-Tokyo and Sydney-Maui non-stop with eight passengers*.
It features state-of-the-art high-speed Internet connectivity and unmatched entertainment options as standard equipment as well as a heads-up flight display system, with the largest field-of-view of any business aircraft.
“The Challenger 605 aircraft and the Bombardier Global 5000 jet are both very well suited for the rigorous demands of the Australasian region,” stated Alastair Creighton Jones, managing director, ExecuJet Australia. “The Challenger 605 jet inherits key attributes from the Challenger 600 aircraft platform, including proven reliability, excellent performance and value, while the Bombardier Global 5000 jet’s high-speed and range combination are very attractive to long distance travellers.”
