Bombardier wins prestigious 'Watercraft Of The Year' award with the 2002 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC

Bombardier has long been known for winning accolades for achievement in design and innovation for its Sea-Doo® watercraft product line. Once again Bombardier must make room in the Sea-Doo trophy case, as the 2002 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC™ has been named "Watercraft of the Year" by Watercraft World magazine.

After a full Summer of riding the four "Watercraft of the Year" finalists, Watercraft World magazine said this about the 2002 GTX 4-TEC in the story titled "The New Math" featured in the new November issue:

"The one craft that made all of the new math seem logical, the craft whose whole was truly greater than the sum of its parts. The one that the "Watercraft of the Year" criteria - innovation, market appeal, and long-term impact on the industry - set head and shoulders above the pack. Our 2002 Watercraft of the Year? Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC."

"Winning the Watercraft of the Year award for the Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC is truly a great honour" says Pierre Arsenault, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Snowmobiles, Watercraft, and ATVs for Bombardier Recreational Products. "This is the fifth time a Sea-Doo watercraft has been named recipient of this award. The success that Bombardier and the new owners of the GTX 4-TEC have enjoyed is a direct result of the passion and dedication that the Bombardier Team displays everyday for our products, the sport, and our customers."

Watercraft World finishes its article by saying:

"Sea-Doo pretty much delivered on the potential they said a four stroke would have - a reliable, environmentally sound engine that accelerated hard, boasted an impressive top speed, and performed with an all-around versatility second to none. Congratulations to Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC on a well-deserved victory."

The 2002 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC watercraft is the first of a family of more environmentally friendly four-stroke powered watercraft from Bombardier. The 1494cc Rotax® 4-TEC marine engine is the cleanest ever produced for a Sea-Doo watercraft and the revolutionary D-Sea-Bel™ sound reduction system makes the GTX 4-TEC the quietest watercraft ever produced1. In addition to these attributes, the new O.P.A.S.™ (Off Power Assisted Steering) system and Sea-Doo Learning Key™ have been commended by the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Bureau) and gives operators greater piece of mind.

The Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC returns in 2003 and is accompanied by a super charged version of the reigning "Watercraft of the Year". Now the 185 horsepower 2003 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC Supercharged watercraft brings more power to what has been coined the "New Era of Watercraft".
