Deutsche Bahn and Bombardier Transportation have agreed on an out-of-court settlement regarding various vehicle projects, where the two companies were able to amicably settle their long-standing legal disputes.
"We have worked intensively in recent months towards a solution to this extremely complex and difficult situation and thus achieved a settlement acceptable to both sides", says Gerd Becht, Member of the Managing Board of Deutsche Bahn, Compliance, Data Protection, Legal Affairs and Corporate Security. The claims, which both parties have voiced in court, are thus settled.
The types of trains covered under this settlement include Berlin S-Bahn vehicles, Regional and Commuter trains in Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Württemberg, as well as the TALENT 2.
Lutz Bertling, President of Bombardier Transportation, stresses, “Since taking over the management of Bombardier Transportation, I was personally committed to improving our relationship with our most important customer. The settlement is an encouraging sign for our future cooperation."
Deutsche Bahn and Bombardier see this step as creating a new foundation for their business relationship, allowing better collaboration.
Both sides have agreed not to disclose the details of the settlement.
