Execujet Joins Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services

NBAA 2005

Bombardier Aerospace and Lufthansa Technik today welcomed ExecuJet Aviation Group as its new partner within Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (LBAS) in Berlin, Germany.

ExecuJet Aviation Group has signed an agreement to acquire a 20 per cent equity stake in the world-class maintenance facility. LBAS now expands its scope to include aircraft management services - thereby offering Bombardier customers even more options. The acquisition remains subject to clearance by the relevant European authorities.

"This represents the logical next step in the strategic development of LBAS," said Andreas Kaden, managing director, LBAS." ExecuJet Aviation Group, a loyal customer for many years, brings a new element to our business allowing us to expand client services as we continue to focus on customer needs. Furthermore, LBAS and ExecuJet are jointly committed to seeking areas of future strategic cooperation and expansion within Europe"

Established in 1997 as a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and Bombardier Aerospace, LBAS, is exclusively dedicated to supporting Bombardier business aircraft. "In our eight years of operation, we've developed a tremendous client base of Bombardier business jet operators, who turn to us for first-rate service. We look forward to continued growth under our new agreement with ExecuJet and Bombardier," said Bernhard Conrad, senior vice-president completion center and head of approved design organization, Lufthansa Technik AG and chairman of the LBAS board of directors.

ExecuJet Aviation Group has significantly increased its presence in Europe over the past three years, offering aircraft charter, sales, management and an existing maintenance facility at Roskilde Airport in Denmark. "This marks an important step in ExecuJet's ongoing expansion into the Northern hemisphere which has most recently included our appointment as an exclusive distributor for Bombardier Challenger and Learjet aircraft in Germany," observed Niall Olver, chief executive officer, ExecuJet Aviation Group. "We can now offer our European customers the same high-level service and a complete business aviation solution that have become synonymous with the ExecuJet name in other parts of the world."

Bombardier is committed to setting unparalleled standards of aircraft availability. "Focusing on technical and engineering support, building a world-class support services network and offering our customers more choices are key to our overall plan," said Dave Orcutt, vice-president, customer support, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "Adding ExecuJet's expertise and capabilities is in line with our strategy for LBAS to offer top quality maintenance and service solutions throughout central Europe."
