- Agreement marks Lysacek’sfirst post-Olympic corporate relationship
For Evan Lysacek, keeping up with his grueling travel schedule has become an Olympic feat in and of itself. Through a new alliance with Flexjet, the 2010 Winter Games figure skating gold medalist and emerging ballroom dancer can more easily balance his demanding, cross-country commitments. From practices and performances with his “Dancing with the Stars” partner Anna Trebunskaya to his role as a featured skater in “Smucker’s Stars on Ice” national tour, Lysacek will now benefit from Flexjet’s award-winning private aviation services when traveling to hard-to-reach destinations.
“Flexjet is making it possible for me to be everywhere I need to be,” said Lysacek. “Balancing my ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘Stars on Ice’ schedules is no small challenge, but now I can be assured I’ll arrive ready to perform at the top of my game. It’s my new secret weapon.”
Flexjet’s relationship as Lysacek’s official private jet sponsor and first post-Olympic corporate relationship officially begins today when Flexjet arranges access on a Challenger 300 business jet for the athlete and his dance partner to travel from Los Angeles to Manchester, New Hampshire. Lysacek is scheduled to perform with Smucker’s Stars on Ice in Manchester today and will be practicing his next dance number in between skating rehearsals and the performance.
“Evan is one of the hardest working athletes in his sport, and Flexjet shares his obsession with excellence,” said Bob Knebel, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Flexjet. “With access to more than 10 times the number of airports available to commercial airlines, Flexjet can ensure Evan gets directly where he needs to be to give him the competitive edge.”
The relationship between Flexjet and Lysacek began during the XXI Olympic Winter Games when the company hosted a number of its owners in Vancouver. Guests of Flexjet were not only treated to an unmatched experience at the Games – complete with the most sought-after event tickets and luxury accommodations – but also enjoyed a private breakfast with Lysacek following his award-winning performance.
