Global Wings of Japan orders first Bombardier Learjet 45 XR

Bombardier Aerospace today announced that Global Wings, Inc., of Tokyo, Japan, has placed a firm order for one new Bombardier Learjet* 45 XR super light business jet, and placed an option for a second aircraft.

It is the first Bombardier Learjet 45 XR to be ordered by a Japanese operator, and paves the way for Global Wings, provider of world-class business jet services throughout Asia, to provide non-stop Japan-China executive charter service.

“The Bombardier Learjet 45 XR takes legendary Learjet performance to the next level by offering superior comfort, enhanced payload, more range, a cruise speed that is fastest in its class, and unmatched time-to-climb capabilities,” noted David Dixon, regional vice-president, sales, Asia-Pacific, Bombardier Aerospace Business Aircraft. “It will fly Global Wings’ passengers non-stop from Japan to major Northern and Central Chinese cities, Hong Kong, and Manila,” noted Mr. Dixon.

The Learjet 45 XR will be registered and based in Beijing, China. According to Tak Masamura, president and chief executive officer of Global Wings, “the Learjet 45 XR offers optimized performance and a spacious cabin; an ideal combination for superior charter service and passenger comfort.”

Designed specifically to meet customer needs in the evolving premium super-light business jet segment, the Bombardier Learjet 45 XR can carry up to eight passengers and two crew a maximum of 2,007 nautical miles (3,717 km) at cruise speeds up to Mach 0.81 (534 mph; 859 km/hr) and altitudes up to 51,000 feet (15,545 m).
