Pioneering Smart Parts program turns 20!
Bombardier Aerospace will showcase its innovative family of business jets and demonstrate its leadership role in customer services at the sixth annual European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland, May 2-5.
Four aircraft from Bombardier’s complete range of business jets – the largest family in corporate aviation – will be on static display at Geneva International Airport. It includes the new flagship Global Express XRS ultra long range jet – making its worldwide air show debut – and for the first time in Europe, a full-scale cabin mock-up of the new widebody Challenger 605. The large cabin Challenger 850, super midsize Challenger 300, and super light Learjet 45 XR business jets will also be open for viewing throughout the entire show.
In addition to hosting comprehensive technical and operational sessions for its Bombardier Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft families, the company will kick off the 20th anniversary of Smart Parts, Bombardier’s pioneering cost-per-flight-hour budgeting program. A Smart Roadster* – to be awarded at the show to a lucky Bombardier business jet operator – will be on display at Bombardier’s 4,069-square-foot (378-sq.-m), two-floor exhibit at the Geneva Palexpo Conference Center. The expanded booth (#1300) is Bombardier’s largest footprint to date at the European exhibition.
With its innovative products, turnkey charter solutions and significant investments in world-class customer service and support, Bombardier is at the forefront of developing business aviation across Europe. Bombardier delivered 102 business jets in Europe from 2001 to 2005, representing a 20 per cent share of the market, while London-based Skyjet International offers premier business jet charter programs with unprecedented worldwide access to a fleet of over 900 business jets.
Bombardier also continues to make significant advances in its customer support, with a new parts super warehouse in Frankfurt, Germany, in operation since August 2005, and seven dedicated business aircraft field service representatives in Europe, more than any other corporate jet manufacturer.
“Bombardier continues to strengthen its position as Europe’s leading provider of total transportation solutions,” notes Bob Horner, vice-president, sales, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We are introducing new aircraft that deliver our customers unsurpassed performance and superior value in traditional European markets such as Switzerland, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom, while also successfully playing a pioneering role to establish business aviation in new markets like Russia and the Ukraine.”

Bombardier Aircraft on Static Display at EBACE 2006
Bombardier’s newest business aircraft will be on static display at the Geneva International Airport, adjacent to the Palexpo Conference Centre.
Learjet 45 XR: The eight-to-nine passenger Learjet 45 XR aircraft flies faster farther, with more passengers than any other super light business jet. Its passenger cabin area is 15 inches (38 cm) longer than that of its competitors, and it offers seated passengers more head and shoulder room than any other aircraft in its class. Delivering enhanced performance at high altitudes and in hot temperatures, the aircraft can fly approximately 2,000 nautical miles (3,717 km) with eight passengers, two crew and full fuel. Bombardier will celebrate the milestone delivery of the 300th Learjet 45 aircraft in late April, just prior to EBACE.
Challenger 300: This first true super-midsize business jet offers transcontinental range and superior long-range cruise speed, with eight passengers. The aircraft, which entered service in January 2004, can fly London-Dubai non-stop with a full payload and its superior airfield performance allows it to operate out of 5,000-foot (1,524-m) runways with ease. The Challenger 300 in-service fleet currently totals over 74 aircraft, with a dispatch reliability of 99.5 per cent.
Challenger 850: This aircraft combines the largest cabin in its class with the outstanding dependability and performance of a CRJ200. The Challenger 850 features a transcontinental range of 2,905 nautical miles (5,379 km) under certain operating conditions, with 8 passengers, and cruises faster and at higher altitudes than its competition. Market interest is soaring in both the executive and shuttle versions of this flexible aircraft.
Global Express XRS: The pioneering Global Express XRS business jet features the largest cabin of any purpose-built corporate aircraft –offering 28 per cent more cabin volume and 45 per cent more floor space than its closest competitor. Designed to provide a highly productive working environment and deliver ultimate comfort, the cabin features up to 6-foot, 3-inch (1.91-m) stand up height, and a three-compartment configuration. No other business jet in the ultra long-range class matches the high-speed range capability delivered by the Global Express XRS. Under certain operating conditions, the aircraft can link London-Singapore and Geneva-Los Angeles non-stop with 8 passengers and 3-to-4 crew.
