New Dallas Service Center Opens in Hollywood Style

New hangar can accommodate eight Learjet aircraft, four Challenger jets and two Global business jets

Bombardier today inaugurated its new Dallas Service Center at Love Field with all the glitz and glamour of a red carpet Hollywood gala. The 100,000-square-foot (9,290-sq-m) expansion features a 52,500-square-foot (4,877-sq.-m) hangar along with 45,000 square feet (4,180 sq. m) of back shops and office space.

The expansion, representing an investment of approximately $17 million U.S., increases maintenance capacity in Dallas by over 60 percent. Challenger jets and Global aircraft are now featured on the service roster along with Learjet aircraft and the Bombardier Flexjet fractional fleet.

“The Dallas service center has long been a staple of our customer services network and this expansion reaffirms our ongoing commitment to providing the best customer experience possible,” said Gary Scott, President, Aircraft Services and New Commercial Aircraft Programs, Bombardier Aerospace. “Dallas is a major business aviation center, and this facility is poised to provide the highest level of service to our customers across the United States and Mexico.”

Initially opened in June 2000 to cater to the growing number of Bombardier operators across the southern United States and Central America, the new facility will house approximately 125      full-time maintenance technicians and specialists, with projected growth up to approximately 200 employees over the next five years.

Glitz and glamour highlight new service center opening
For the evening gala event, reminiscent of “old Hollywood” in 1930s movie era, the new facility was converted into a Hollywood movie premier and nightclub. Bombardier customers received red-carpet treatment with a night of exquisite food and entertainment, including a
13-piece orchestra.
