Omni Aviação Orders Bombardier Challenger 300 and Learjet 40 XR Jets

  • Aero Services named Learjet AOG/LMF at Paris-Le Bourget Airport

Bombardier Aerospace today announced that OMNI Aviação – a leading aircraft charter and services company headquartered in Cascais, Portugal – has placed orders for a super midsize Challenger 300 jet and a lightLearjet 40 XR aircraft. The transaction is valued at approximately $29 million US, based on the list price for typically equipped aircraft.

Both business jets will be operated by OMNI’s subsidiary Aero Services, France’s largest business aviation charter services provider, and will be based at Paris-Le Bourget Airport, where they will join Omni’s super light Learjet 45 jet as the company continues to reenergize its fleet with new high-performance jets. Upon entry into service, OMNI’s two new jets will also join Skyjet International’s growing European network.

“We successfully launched Learjet 45 aircraft service at Le Bourget in February 2006, and we are confident that both the Learjet 40 XR jet and the Challenger 300 aircraft will be superb additions to our fleet,” said Jose Miguel da Costa, chief executive officer, OMNI Aviação/Aero Services. “Both aircraft are exceptionally well suited for the European charter environment, each offering exceptional cabin comfort, superior payload-range and top performance in their respective categories. We are looking forward to offering our passengers the exceptional experience of flying on these jets.”

Bombardier also announced Aero Services’ Paris Le Bourget facility as an Aircraft On Ground/Line Maintenance Facility (AOG/LMF) for Bombardier Learjet aircraft. The Aero Services facility can accommodate the complete family of Learjet aircraft in their maintenance hangar.

“As we welcome Aero Services to our international network – Bombardier’s first AOG/LMF in France – we also highlight our goal to offer top quality service and support to the growing Learjet operator base in this country and throughout Europe,” said James Hoblyn, senior vice-president, customer experience. “This is Bombardier’s third authorized service facility announcement at EBACE 2007, underlining our commitment to service and support expansion in Europe. Yesterday, we announced that Jet Aviation in Basel, Switzerland and Aero-Dienst in Nuremberg, Germany are both expanding their Bombardier business jet services portfolios.”

OMNI/Aero Services offers customers total service solution
With the Learjet AOG/LMF authorization added to its alliance with Skyjet International, growing Bombardier business jet fleet and designation as the exclusive Learjet sales representative in France, OMNI Aero Services now offers a total Bombardier Learjet solution.

“Like Skyjet International, OMNI/Aero Services is a pioneer in total service solutions. They are also a key player in our European charter network,” said Judith Moreton, managing director, Skyjet International. “The addition of Aero Services as our first network charter provided based at Le Bourget, with their Learjet 45 jet, allowed us to successfully introduce the benefits of corporate travel in France, offering them destinations throughout Europe and worldwide.
The addition of the Learjet 40 XR and Challenger 300 to their fleet futher emphasizes the success of our ongoing relationship and confirms that Bombardier aircraft, with their latest advances in technology and passenger comfort, are ideally positioned to meet the region’s surging appetite for corporate travel.”

Learjet 40 XR
The six-to-seven passenger Learjet 40 XR aircraft features the widest and most spacious cabin in its class and a full aft lavatory. This next generation jet delivers impressive time-to-climb performance under all conditions – particularly in hot and high operating environments – requiring only 23 minutes to reach 43,000 feet (13,106 m). The Learjet 40 XR can connect Paris-Santa Cruz non-stop*.

Challenger 300
The only business jet to feature Lufthansa Technik’s top of the line NICE cabin management system, this first true super-midsize aircraft offers transcontinental range and superior long-range cruise speed, with eight passengers. It can fly Paris-Dubai non-stop with a full payload and its superior airfield performance allows it to operate out of 5,000-foot (1,524-m) runways with ease*. The Challenger 300 in-service fleet currently totals over 116 aircraft, with a dispatch reliability of over 99.5 per cent as at January 2007.
