- Bombardier wraps up successful conference and trade show
- Four top suppliers recognized in new awards program
- Eighteen airlines honoured for world-class operational performance
More than sixty airlines from around the world converged on Toronto from June 14 to 17 for Bombardier Commercial Aircraft’s Q-Series Operators’ Conference and Trade Show. Over 500 delegates participated in forums and workshops and had the opportunity to speak with aircraft specialists regarding their Q-Series aircraft. Since the entry-into-service of the first Dash 8/Q-Series turboprop in 1984, Bombardier has delivered more than 970 Dash 8/Q-Series aircraft.
The four-day event, which was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, brought the worldwide community of Dash 8/Q-Series aircraft operators together under the theme “Three Priorities, One Mission, One Community.” In addition to several forums and workshops, the event also included a major trade show, which featured exhibits from 130 industry-leading suppliers and showcased the latest products and services that support and enhance the Dash 8/Q-Series aircraft.
“This was more than your standard technical conference; we designed it to be highly interactive and engaging,” said Todd Young, Vice President, Customer Services and Support, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “Our customers learned how Bombardier’s service and support offering is evolving to meet their needs, and we gained valuable insight into their future business requirements.”
During the conference, Bombardier also recognized the outstanding performance of its Q-Series and CRJ Series aircraft customers and suppliers. Winners of the first annual In-Service Supplier Top Achievement Recognition (STAR) Awards and the third annual Airline Performance Reliability Awards were announced at separate evening events.
In-Service STAR Awards
Four suppliers were honoured with In-Service STAR Awards for excellence in supporting Bombardier customers based on their overall performance measured by Bombardier’s In-Service Supplier Scorecard in 2009. Please see Appendix A for the list of winners.
Airline Reliability Performance Awards
Airline Reliability Performance Awards were presented to nine Q-Series and eight CRJ Series aircraft operators from diverse geographical regions, reflecting the increased global presence of Bombardier’s commercial aircraft. The award-winning airlines were honoured for their world-class operational performance, which included having achieved dispatch reliability rates greater than 99 per cent on revenue passenger flights in 2009. Five of this year’s winners received the honour for the third consecutive year. The winners are listed in Appendix A.
