Challenger 350: The best just got better

The Challenger 350 business jet just celebrated a milestone—it’s 350th delivery. This in and of itself is impressive, but to have done it in less than six years from its entry into service is a testament to how this best-selling super mid-size business jet continues to set the standard for performance, comfort, reliability and smooth ride—and how recent investments will help ensure it remains #1 well into the future.

Since its debut in 2014, the Challenger 350 aircraft has struck the perfect balance between superior comfort, advanced in-flight amenities, outstanding reliability and class-leading value. The key to its success? Continuous evolution. Bombardier is constantly adding new features and technology with the goal of customer satisfaction, and this impressive business jet keeps surpassing the competition. It is the number one aircraft of choice among top charter operators and flight departments worldwide, and for good reason: Not only does it offer the lowest direct operating costs in its category, but its state-of-the-art cabin and tech offerings make each ride comfortable and productive for those on board.

Need to stay connected during your journey? That’s now easier than ever. New for 2020, Ka-band connectivity means passengers can enjoy high-speed internet, so you can check in with your team, host a virtual board meeting or stream your favourite movies or music from the comfort of your seat. Another new update for 2020, inspired by the industry flagship Global 7500 business jet, is the cabin management system (CMS), which has been given a smart refresh. Its modern and user-friendly design allows you to intuitively connect to all of your personal electronic devices in order to be as productive or entertained as you need to be, whether that’s picking a movie from your handheld device or displaying a slide presentation from your laptop.

With an expansive collection of elegant, contemporary interior design schemes, you can be sure that your aircraft will reflect your personal style. When it comes to comfort, the aircraft’s meticulously crafted interiors are both sleek and ergonomic. The largest cabin in its class, with a fully flat floor, also allows for more aisle space and unrestricted access to baggage. Tall windows provide an abundance of natural light, and ultra-comfortable seats feature 180-degree swivel, tracking, recline and berthing capabilities. Everything has been thought of, right down to the clever foldout tables that when deployed align flush with the side ledge to allow for uninterrupted screen view. Passengers have easy access to cabin controls, real-time flight info, and video playback with eight perfectly positioned touch screens. Plus, the Challenger 350 aircraft’s optimally balanced wing design allows for an exceptionally smooth ride.

In the cockpit, recent enhancements include an available compact Head-up Display (HUD) and Enhanced Vision System (EVS), which will soon be available for installation on in-service Challenger 350 aircraft at one of Bombardier’s nine service centres around the world. Pilots trust the HUD for increased situational awareness and safety, especially during critical phases of flight like takeoff and landing. The HUD is elevated further with the EVS, which transmits live infrared imagery from outside the aircraft to the HUD, revealing runway lighting, surrounding terrain and possible obstacles, even in adverse visibility conditions.

In 2019, the Challenger 350 aircraft achieved steep-approach certification, and a performance improvement package now enables it to fly up to 1,500 nautical miles (2,778 kilometers) farther out of short runways from cities such as Santa Monica, California. This enhancement, along with the new HUD and EVS systems, allow every pilot to takeoff and land with greater confidence.

“The Challenger 350 aircraft stays on top because it’s the best, and these new features set this business jet even further apart from competitors,” Peter Likoray, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “Customers prefer this aircraft because it offers performance without compromise and a cabin experience you can’t find anywhere else in this category.”
