Bombardier Business Aircraft and its partner Tianjin Airport Economic Area (TAEA), are pleased to announce their new maintenance facility in Tianjin, China, is making great progress. Construction of the building’s exterior is 90 per cent complete, and the facility will be operated using similar processes and procedures that govern Bombardier’s worldwide network of wholly-owned service centres. Bombardier Business Aircraft customers will be able to receive maintenance, repair, overhaul, and associated activities and services.
As part of Bombardier Business Aircraft’s commitment to operators in Asia, the new maintenance facility will further strengthen its customer support network in China, which includes a team of Field Service Representatives and Customer Support Account Managers, as well as four Authorized Service Facilities.
Technician training is also well underway, with 14 technicians currently receiving Bombardier’s Type Training Course for Mechanical and Avionics certification in Montréal before heading to the Tucson Service Centre for an additional three months of on-the-job training. Paired with senior Bombardier Technicians, they will perform a series of inspections and troubleshooting exercises to perfect their skills before returning to Tianjin. In addition to aircraft training, they will also become familiar with Bombardier Service Centre processes and Quality Control Systems.
“Professional Services as well as Quality and Safety Management Systems are but a few key features we offer in China,” said Lanny Schindelmeiser, newly-appointed General Manager, Bombardier Tianjin Aviation Services Company Ltd. “The business aviation sector in the region has experienced significant growth in the past, and we are excited to offer customers the full strength of our maintenance and support network, closer to their base of operations,” he added.

Bombardier is expanding its customer support network to bring services closer to Beijing, the busiest business aviation hub in Mainland China and to its growing customer base in the region.
When completed, the service facility will include a hangar, office space, as well as back shop areas totaling 8,897 square meters (95,766 square feet).
